1Month Old
The girls were 1 month old on Wednesday (16th). Where has the time gone? Their well baby appointment went well.
Callie was 7 lbs 6oz and 21" long (about the 50th percentile on normal charts, 90th on preemie chart).
Emma was 5 lbs 10 oz and 19" long (about 10th percentile on preemie chart - not registering on normal charts).
The dr was pleased with their progress - she said they're both right on track. She also said their head/neck control was excellent. All in all, it was a very good appointment.
I'm quickly realizing that it's NOT going to be easy to take the girls out alone (or with anyone for that matter). My sister and I went to a friend's house yesterday and it was such an ordeal to get the girls there. After that, we did run to 2 stores...thank goodness my sister was there. Otherwise, I would not have gone anywhere! The double stroller was too much of an ordeal to take them in to the store (since we were only going to be in there a minute), so each of us took a baby and put them in a shopping cart. :) Luckily, the stores were not crowded, so everyone left us alone.
I was able to get out today to get my hair cut. It was nice to be out and about. I also ran to Walmart to get a few groceries and such. Remind me to never again buy formula and diapers on the same day! Geez!! I spent over $200 and half of that was Pampers and formula! Yikes!
Emma has been sleeping better the last 2 nights - I hope this is a trend she wants to keep!
I bought a contraption called an Oobee online (http://www.myoobee.com/) that attaches to a pacifier...this is the best thing since sliced bread! It helps Emma hold her own pacifier in. It's the best $10 I've ever spent...DH said he would gladly spend $10 per night just to help Emma sleep!
I only have 2 more weeks before my 6 week checkup...I'm hoping they tell me I need to take 2 more weeks off (which is standard for a C-section). I do NOT want to go back to work! :(
