Easter Weekend

It's been one busy weekend and I'm glad to be home!

We went to Asheville, NC Thursday evening. The girls were ready to be out of the van! :) We got to Asheville a little before 7:00 and everyone was ready for some food. So, we went to a place Phil really likes called Asiana...it's basically an overgrown Chinese buffet. It has a pretty decent buffet with sushi (and non Chinese food for the kids).

After supper, we drove around forever finding a place to stay. We wound up at the first place we went to. We got a 2 room jacuzzi suite. It was pretty nice - lots of play space and a big ol jacuzzi tub in the middle of the living room (so much for any privacy).

It was 9:00 at night when we got checked in - the girls were hyper! They were laughing hysterically and exploring everything once we got to the room. Josh was having a pretty good time, too!

We didn't get in bed (all 5 of us) until 11:00 that night! The girls could not go to sleep. They woke up at 7:30 the next morning. We finally made it to breakfast (in the hotel) and then came back up and got ready.

We told Josh we were going to have a fun day. Well, he kept asking when we were going to have fun. :) I guess he didn't much care for our drive downtown and a little bit of shopping.

We ate lunch at a place called The Depot. It was really good and a Josh got to see a train go by the window - he decided he was having fun now.

After that, we went to the Nature Center. It was a mini zoo with "local" wild animals in it. There were otters, bears, deer, cougars, bobcats, birds, snakes, etc. in it. Josh LOVED it! It was a really nice little place.

We went back to the room after that to crash a little bit...didn't last long. :) Everyone got hungry again!

On Saturday, we went to Kingsport to visit with Phil's family. His brother and his family were there from Lexington. It was great seeing them again.

Mike and Katie (niece and her husband) got to see the girls for the first time. We also found out that Mike & Katie are expecting! It's still very early, but I hope things progress quite nicely.

We finally hit the road around 8:00 that night and got home around 10:00. Luckily, everyone went to bed easily.

We had to actually set the alarm to get up in time for church. :) We NEVER have to do that...the girls always wake up on time. This time, we had to wake them up.

After church, we came home and decorated Easter Eggs (finally). Josh loved it! After the eggs dried, we went outside and hid them. Josh had a blast.

Oh! The girls turned 14 months old yesterday! Wow!
