Summer Updates!

Boy, what a summer!!

Josh had scout camp and basketball camp - what fun! He really enjoyed both.

Emma had her "big" surgery in July. Dr. Lucas did her bone graft and closed up the rest of her palate. She's doing great. She still has some sutures in her mouth, but those will eventually dissolve. The surgery only slowed her down for about a week. She lived on a lot of ice cream!

Callie has had a very eventful few weeks, too. On July 15, she had a mild, localized seizure. The dr went ahead and put her on anti-seizure medicine. A week and a half later, she was diagnosed w/ strep. A week after that, she was diagnosed w/ Fifth Disease (viral). For all we know, these 2 illnesses could have triggered the seizure. She has been having some shaking episodes since then. She has an EEG scheduled in a couple of weeks. We'll see what that shows and then discuss the viral infection w/ the doctor. We didn't know about that when we were there last (it showed up later that afternoon).

Josh starts school on Monday. I don't think he's looking forward to it too much yet. He's had a good summer. :)

He went to Memphis for a few days after Emma's surgery and had a blast with Wendy.

He's spent a few days here and there with Grandmother and Granddaddy, too. He and Callie went to a Magic Show the day of Emma's surgery. He just went to a Chinese acrobat show, too.

Hopefully, our fall and winter are more calm than our summer. At least we didn't have any broken bones this summer! Yay!
