Swimming Lessons

Josh is taking swimming lessons again - he's in the Advanced Beginner class. There are about 10 kids in his class.

Mr. Ed is a fabulous teacher! Josh was right there with most of the kids - he did a great job!! They were actually swimming during class - arms and all. Mr. Ed just jumps right in there and doesn't waste any time.

Josh did a great job - didn't get nervous (well, maybe a little), but he went right over w/ the class and didn't get shy like he sometimes does. Way to go, Josh! :)

Mommy, Emma has pink eyes!

Well, not really, but she does have pink eye. Callie keeps telling me that Emma has pink eyes. :)

Emma woke up Saturday with a little goop in her eyes...didn't think alot about it - wiped them out and we went on.

By Sunday, her eyes were a little more goopy and starting to look like she had been crying all night. :(

We took her crusty little eyes to the doctor on Monday - yes, she has an eye infection (which I think they just lump into the pink eye category). We got drops and all is good.

Emma loves getting the eye drops put in...she's a strange little girl. When she knows it's time to put them in, she just has giggle fits. She can't stop laughing. She doesn't fight it at all.

Her eyes look so much better now!!

While we were at the doctor on Monday, mom had Callie. When we got home, Callie said, "I frow up on the couch". Yeppers, Callie threw up. We think it was because she had just had some apple juice and then she started coughing. She never did get sick, per se. She's fine now.

I hope we can go a whole week without someone getting something. Emma had a stomach bug for a week and a half and then 3 days later got pink eye.

Josh and Callie have been well, so far. Hopefully, they'll stay that way!!

Another Phone Call for Josh

Josh's friend (who is female) called him again yesterday afternoon and asked if SHE could come over to play with Josh!

Where are the parents?

This is the same little girl that we ran into at Walmart the other day...she told us she just skipped school that day...she's in Kindergarten! What does she know about skipping school! From the sounds of it, she does this quite often.

I will be glad when this school year is over and he no longer has class with this girl (she seems like a sweet girl).

Josh is the leader today!

Josh has been the leader many times since school has started, so I'm not sure why today is different.

He woke up at 2:30 this morning and came into our room. "Mommy, is it time to get up? I want to make sure I'm not late for my date as the leader". I tried to reassure him that he wasn't going to be late. Around 4:00, he was still awake (as were Phil & I)...he decided to go back to his own room (thank goodness). :)

He tossed and turned for an hour and a half - could not wait for the day to begin!!

He was back up at 6:00 or so..."Is it time to get up yet?". When I told him we'd get up in about 15 minutes, he jumped up and down.

This child could not wait to get to school this morning!!

Phil & I are barely functioning because we're so tired.

I asked Josh why he was so excited about today. He said it was the first time he'd ever been the leader on a Wednesday! :)

Happy Easter (a week late)

We went to Kingsport for Easter weekend this year. Phil's entire family was there (all 20 of us).

The kids all had a great time! The girls were happy to be around everyone while Josh was happier where it was quieter (watching tv, reading, or working in his activity books).

We all went out to eat Saturday night at Raphael's. It was really good. We got everyone home and finally into bed at 9:00. All 3 kids went down easily.

Sunday morning was just fine - got up and got ready for church.

We were right in the middle of church when Emma all of a sudden threw up...no warning, no nothing. To make a long story short, our family went back to my inlaws to get Emma cleaned up and changed.

She threw up 1 more time. We went on to Bill & Eileen's for lunch. Emma was up playing around - no problems. She didn't eat anything, but did drink some tea.

When I got her buckled into the van, she threw up again. So, we had to get her out, clean the carseat, change her clothes, etc.

We finally got back home. She threw up again around 10:30 and again at 11:00.

Monday was the worst. She threw up (mostly dry heaves by now) about every 30 minutes. We took her to the doctor...confirmed she had a stomach bug. The dr prescribed her some Zofran which worked wonders.

All Monday afternoon, Emma wanted to drink. She drank quite a bit of Pedialyte. She ate a little bit of supper. By Tuesday, she was feeling much better - still a little weak, though.

She came very close to being admitted to Children's for dehydration. We were very lucky she got amazingly thirsty when we got home.

She's almost back to normal now (bm's are still a little loose). She's at daycare today - so far, no calls. :)

Overall, we had a great weekend.

Fun, Busy Weekend

It started out early Saturday morning when we decided to get up and go eat breakfast at Italian Market and Grill...YUM! We were pleasantly surprised when we found out all 3 kids got to eat free (we thought we would have to pay for Josh). :) They all loved it! The girls kept asking for more waffles (they were good).

After that, we went to the park and played for quite awhile. We took a walk and the kids found a worm. Josh and Callie refused to touch it. Emma kept pushing it around w/ her finger - it would get stuck and then she'd shake it off. It seems like we only have 1 nature lover on our hands. HA!

We came home, the kids ate a bit of lunch, took a nap and then went back outside to play while Phil mowed.

Sunday was way too busy!

We went to church...as soon as we got home, we ate very quickly and then Josh and I left at 12:30 for a birthday party. We got home at about 3:20, ran inside to get Phil & the girls and left again about 3:40 to go to an Easter Egg Hunt at church.

The kids all had a blast! This was the first year the girls got to hunt for Easter Eggs...they both got quite a basket full! I think there must have been more eggs in their section, because they both got more eggs than Josh. Phil said Josh was fairly aggressive at picking them up (he usually holds back a little). At any rate, there's enough candy to go around!

They also had lots of activities for the kids to do...they decorated Easter Eggs, decorated cupcakes, played a fishing game, etc.

They all wanted popcorn...Josh made his daddy go get his, but not the girls...they both stood in line and got their own (twice)!

Callie gave us a little scare. I thought she was Phil and Phil didn't know he was suppose to have her (he thought she was w/ me). We turned around and she was gone. Luckily, she had just wandered off to the cupcake decorating table and one of the ladies was holding her. She saw Callie wandering around alone and thought she'd just better hold on to her (thank goodness). I knew she couldn't get far - there were too many people there that knew her.

We did a better job at holding on to them.

After a quick supper (after the popcorn, cotton candy and snowcones), the girls went back to the cupcake decorating table (we didn't let them get one up until this point). I gave in and let them decorate their own cupcake. They both took their stick and put icing on their cupcake - it was like they've always been icing their own cakes...go figure. Anyway, when they were finished, they both ate the whole thing!

I'm surprised everyone didn't have a tummyache last night.

We got home around 6:30, put everyone in the tub and into bed!

I'm still tired! I had to come back to work to "rest"!

I'll try to post some pictures tonight!
