End of January

Not a lot to post, but thought I'd try to do more than 1 entry a month. :)

The girls went to a birthday party this weekend at Chuck E Cheese. It was at 9:30 in the morning and I believe that's the best time to go. It wasn't crowded at all! The girls had a blast. They won about 400 tickets between them and wound up w/ several little trinkets (bracelet, comb, candy and tattoos). They were happy and they want to go again.

Josh and Phil went to a movie Saturday morning. Josh won 2 tickets for selling popcorn. The theater was reserved just for the scouts (well, not sure it was even open at the time for the public anyway). Josh won a DVD about a funny story about the Pinewood Derby. I think he watched it 2-3 times this weekend.

It rained all day yesterday...not sure the last time it rained the whole entire day - not sure there was a break at all.

The girls have a cough right now - they don't feel bad and no fevers are involved. But, after the party, we kept them in the rest of the weekend.

Happy New Year

Well, it's now 2010! When did that happen?

Everyone is doing well. The girls have started the Governor's Pre-K program at Cedar Bluff. They're having a blast! They really feel like big girls now. They have their backpacks and lunchboxes and are loving it!

Funnies from the girls:

Last night, the girls were saying their prayers. First of all, we didn't go to church yesterday morning (it was just plain too cold and we also woke up late - someone forgot to set the alarm). So, Callie starts her prayers and says, "Thank you for letting us go to church.". She looks up at me and asks, "Did we go to church today?" I told her we didn't. She asked me if everyone else went to church? I said yes. So, she starts her prayer again..."Thank you for letting everyone else go to church!".

I believe this one was Callie, too...she came downstairs last night, after she was suppose to be in bed asleep. Well, she caught me having a little snack. She asked me what I was eating...I told her that I was having a snack. She looked at me and said, "Well, you just had supper!". The girls always want a "snack" 2 seconds after they've eaten supper. I always tell them, "You've just had supper! You don't need a snack already."

We were getting ready to watch a movie yesterday afternoon and I told the girls that it might be a little scary. Emma just looks at me and says, "Mommy, it's just on tv, it's not scary!".

Josh is doing great in the 3rd grade! I'm glad he likes school! He starts Scouts back again tonight. I think he's missed it. He and Phil are getting ready to make their Pinewood Derby for the big race in February.
