Very sad day

We found out this morning that our niece and her husband lost their precious baby boy. He was due to be born in mid-December.

At this point in time, we don't know what happened. She is delivering him this morning. This was their first child and they had problem conceiving him, so he was already a miracle baby (as is every baby).

Happy Thanksgiving (a few days late)

We had a really nice Thanksgiving. We all went to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville for lunch and to just spend the day.

We ate at Volare. We couldn't get reservations, so we just took our chances. They really paid off... :) We were the 3rd ones in line and since there were 9 of us, we wound up with a private room! It was so nice!!

We ate until we were sick. The girls discovered they really like blueberries! We paid for their love for 2 days afterwards. :)

After we ate, we walked around the Opryland Hotel. It was so pretty!

It was nice to get home Thursday night knowing we ddin't have to go anywhere for the next couple of days.

We spent the rest of the weekend at home not doing much of anything. Well, Phil did clean out the garage and made room to move his office stuff downstairs. The girls are eventually going to get their own room!

I think Josh was excited about going back to school today! I am so glad he enjoys going - I hope that lasts for the next 12 years! :)

Talk, Talk, Talk

Both girls are just taking off verbally right now. Callie is amazing. She can repeat almost anything she hears (which may not be good).

Last night, I was asking Callie what her body parts were (both girls know them well when you ask them to point to something specific, but neither has said what they were). Callie said, "Nose, mouth, eye, ear, hair, finger (fiiin er), knee". When I pointed to my foot, she said, "sock". Well, technically, she was right. :)

Emma can say eye. Emma's also starting to say apple, ball (instead of mall). She also said Callie this morning. :) She still isn't talking alot, but she's starting to try, which is great! Emma probably has about 8-10 words she can say.

Callie has roughly 40+ words she says.

Last night, Callie threw her paci out of the crib...she cried and when I came in there she said, "fall down". Yeah, right. The paci did NOT fall down...she threw it out. LOL

Emma does the same thing w/ her cloth diaper (that's her version of the paci). She throws it over her crib every night...she cries. When I go in to get it, she just says, "Uh-oh". HA!

Josh can tie his shoes!

After about a week's worth of practice, Josh can finally tie his own shoes! Woo hoo!!

On Sunday, we were at mom and dad's and getting ready to leave. All of a sudden, Josh came running into the room saying, "Mommy!! Mommy!! I did it!!! I tied my shoes!!!". He was so proud of himself!!! We're definitely proud of him, too! :) He's been tying his shoes alot lately.

The girls have their flu shots today. Hopefully, they'll do okay. Phil and his mom are taking them by this morning.

Phil's going to have them check Emma's ear, too. He said it was a little bloody this morning. He didn't know if it was from a scratch or something more inside her ear...hopefully, it's just from a scratch.

We've all had the sinus crud the last week or so. The kids started out with it. They never did seem to feel bad...they just had/have runny noses. The girls still have pretty bad runny noses, but it's all clear. :) Phil and I have been fighting it for a week...bad sinus headaches and stuffiness. And, no, neither of us have gone to the doctor. I figure if stuff starts turning green, then I'll go. Until then, I'll rely on Tylenol Sinus which seems to do a pretty decent job (and without knocking me out).

I am a Slobby

That's what Josh said yesterday morning. Well, I had to ask him what a slobby was and he told me. :)

He said that it was a "monster" who walked like *this* (his eyes closed and his arms held out) and he said he walks really slow.

It finally hit me that he was being a Zombie! HA !

I have no idea how he even knew about a zombie or had even heard the name! Probably Scooby Doo...
