Where's the Lotion?

Emma's cracking me up. Everytime I put lotion or hand sanitizer on my hands and rub them together, I catch Emma doing the same thing. She rubs her hands together like she's rubbing in lotion. She's so cute. She is the most observant child.

Callie could care less if I'm putting on lotion...she just doesn't seem to notice. HA! She's more interested in climbing all over me. :) She doesn't have time to notice my hands.

Monsters and Bad Guys!

We are really going through a tough time with Josh and monsters/bad guys.
He's obsessed with them. All of a sudden, he's afraid to go to bed (so he says). He says he needs a grown up upstairs with him unti lhe falls asleep.

Even during the day, he's constantly talking about bad guys and whether or not they can get into the house.

He's obsessed with our alarm and wondered if everyone has alarms (or horns on their roofs as he calls it).

Then he asked why Jesus made bad guys! :(

I'm not sure if the bedtime thing is a way to stay up a little longer or what. He's never been afraid to go to bed. He has a lamp on in his room and we usually leave the hall light on, too, so he has lots of light in his room.

Last night, I turned some music on for him and that helped, but it's becoming quite an ongoing thing.

He keeps talking about a fire bad guy. :( On top of this, he's having bad dreams, well weird, anyway. He said last night, he was playing and he fell and then a zebra came running to him and he got scared. He said he then started running. Then he said he thought the zebra was his friend!

It's tough being popular!

Poor Josh!
When I dropped him off at school today, 2 of his friends were sitting close to each other (he always sits with this 1 friend). Anyway, they both started saying, "Josh! Sit by me!! Sit by me!!". I moved 1 chair so he could sit between them.

Poor Josh just got all upset. He followed me out and told me he just wanted to go home. :(
He couldn't handle them both wanting to sit by him...it was a change in his routine. 1 of the little boys usually isn't there when I drop him off, so he always sits with his best buddy.
It was funny, because a little girl at the other table piped up and said, "He's my best friend, too!!".

Poor kid - too much pressure on him this morning. Luckily, one of his favorite teachers came to the rescue. I briefly told her what had happened and she made everything alright. :)

Phil & the girls are coming home today!

I forgot to post that Phil & the girls have been gone part of the week!

Phil took the girls to my parents on Tuesday so mom could have a break from driving to West Knoxville. After that, he went on to his parents so they didn't have to drive down from Kingsport on Wednesday. Anyway, Phil & the girls have been in Kingsport since Tuesday night and are coming home this afternoon. I'm ready for them to be back home! It seems like it's been forever since we've all been home.

Josh and I have had a good time the last couple of evenings. We've gone shopping, gone out to eat, watched tv, etc. I got all 3 kids their Easter outfits. I couldn't find matching dresses for the girls, but they're similar. Both are sailor dresses. Emma's is navy with white trim (short sleeves). Callie's is white with blue trim (sleeveless). I got them at Belk. The only downside is I didn't get my twin discount since the dresses weren't identical (they didn't have either dress in both sizes). I still need to get the girls some shoes. Actually, Emma can probably still wear her dress shoes, but Callie's outgrown hers. :) That girl has got some fat feet! Emma can still wear size 2 (and 3) while Callie is wearing size 4 shoes.

I'm not sure Josh is thrilled with the fact his sisters are coming home. I think he's enjoyed playing by himself without any little hands trying to take his toys. :)

Josh slept with me the last 2 nights. Last night, he had several of his animals in the bed and told me which ones were for me and which ones were for him. :) So, we had a slew of stuffed animals in bed with us.

The little sneak turned the tv on and was watching tv when I came up to bed. I let him watch Power Rangers at 8:00, but had the time set to turn off as soon as it went off. I told him to go to sleep after that. Well, he didn't. I thought he was asleep when I went up at 9:30 because all was quiet. Boy, did he have me fooled. Needless to say, the tv went off immediately. I just got a guilty grin from him.

I didn't feel very well last night. I had a sinus headache. Anyway, Josh told me he would take good care of me. :) Luckily, the headache is gone today.

Josh is home!!

Josh is home from his trip to Memphis. :) He had a great time!!

He went with Mom and Dad to see Wendy. Last night we were talking and he said, "I thought Wendy's parents were going to be there!". I thought I was going to lose it. I tried to explain to him that his grandparents WERE Wendy's parents. He didn't quite get that Wendy & Scott were my sister & brother. Mom said that after they talked about the relationships for awhile, Josh finally said, "I don't want to talk about this anymore". :) I guess it was just too much!

I think Callie & Emma were glad to see Josh. Callie just squealed when she saw Josh. :) "Josh" is one of her favorite words to say.

Emma is much better after her 2nd round of antibiotics. We took her back to the doctor on Friday. She still did not feel good and she seemed to have a cold on top of the ear infection. The dr gave her Augmentin (stronger antibiotic) and told us to get Triaminic Cold & Allergy. Both have helped tremendously. She's more like her old self. We'll keep her on the antibiotic until her surgery (31st).

Callie & Emma

Monday night, Callie spilled milk down her shirt at supper time. So, since it was just an hour before bedtime, I just took her shirt off and let her run around without one. As soon as I took it off, she got so excited! She started hitting her tummy and chest (like she'd never noticed them before). She was laughing and thumping. LOL Well, Emma couldn't resist all that skin, so she "walked" over to Callie (they were standing up beside the ottoman) and licked her! Emma has this thing with her tongue. :)

Then, Emma found Callie's belly button and was poking around at it. It was hysterical.

Yesterday when I got home, I sat down in the floor with the girls. Callie was a few feet away from me. She stood up and took 3 steps to me and then threw her arms around my neck! AWWW!!! :)

After Emma took her first few steps, she hasn't been interested in doing it again. She is getting over an ear infection and hasn't felt real well this week, so that might be part of it.

Josh and the trip

Josh is cracking me up with this trip.

I told him the other day that he could take Elmo with him.

Josh: My sleeping Elmo?
Me: Yes, you're sleeping Elmo
Josh: Well, I can't take him because Pooh (Wendy's cat) might pull his arms and legs off

Later on, I told him he could take his toys and books.

Josh: Well, I can't take my books because Pooh might get into my bag and scratch all of them.

Where does he get this stuff?

Yesterday, he asked me if Wendy was going to have breakfast food for him. I told him yes. He wanted to know if she was going to have something he liked. LOL Of course she will (there aren't any breakfast foods he doesn't like). Then he asked if she'll have Pop Tarts?? Ahhh!! The real question! :)

I think he's really getting excited about his trip. I told him I'd give him some money for Grandmother to hold on to. That way he'll have some spending money for his food and just "stuff". He asked how much I was going to give him. I told him $20. He asked me how much that was....uh...$20... Actually, he wanted to know how many pieces of money that would be. :) I told him 1 piece of paper money (he likes coins better). He told me HE wanted to carry it and that he wasn't going to lose it. I finally gave in and told him I'd give him a dollar to put in his pocket. That made him feel better. :)

I think my baby is growing up way too fast. :)

Josh is going out of town!

My parents are going to see my sister in Memphis this weekend. As of now, Josh is going with them. :) He's so excited. I'm not sure he'll be so excited when it's time to leave, though.

After this past weekend, he needs a trip. He had a rough day on Sunday. He forgot how to listen and obey. I think a good part of it was him needing some complete attention from us and he just wasn't getting it.

This weekend will be all about him, though! He already has big plans. HA! He wants Wendy to take him to the gym so he can play basketball (yeah, right).

We'll have to remember to send his camera with him (we gave him our old Kodak digital camera), so someone can get some good pictures! :)

Phil wants to take him out to eat on Thursday - any place of his choice. I have a feeling we'll wind up at Ryan's.

Thank you, Leslie, for recommending the spicy tuna salad at Wasabi! Phil and I went there yesterday and he decided to try it...it's a new favorite. :)

It's Friday!

I am so over this week. :) It's been slow and boring at work.

Callie is really getting brave with this walking thing. She's still just taking 2-3 steps at a time, but at least she's still taking them!

Emma didn't take any last night - I think she was too tired to.

The girls seemed exhausted last night. When it was time to eat, I told Callie to crawl into the kitchen (which she always does)...if there's food involved, she's right there! Well, while I took Emma to the kitchen, Callie just sat in the living room and cried. :( I went back in to get her...she managed to make it through supper (again, when there's food, she's happy).

As soon as supper was over, she started crying and crying again. I finally just picked her up and put her on my shoulder and she was sound asleep in 5 seconds.

Emma stayed fussy, but she wanted to play.

It's never a good idea to let them go to sleep that close to bedtime, but what choice did I have?

Callie woke back up around 6:30 and I immediately gave her a bath and gave her a bottle. I had to take her up to bed before I even got Emma ready to eat (she got her bath, but no bottle). Emma downed her bottle and was asleep before I knew it. They were both asleep by 7:00 last night. WOW!

Callie is so cute...she's saying "Dosh" when she sees Josh. Of course, Josh is just loving it! He's very happy his sister can say his name. :) He does love his sisters!!

Trip to the doctor...

We had to take Emma in to the doctor yesterday. She wasn't feeling any better (didn't feel well after coming home from my mom & dad's) and she started running a higher fever (101) and tugging on her ear.

Phil didn't call me until 2:30 to say she was getting worse, but I was still able to get an appt at 4:30 (thank goodness). They were running way behind because of a rotavirus outbreak. They had to send one child to the hospital today. :( Let's hope the girls don't get that! I'll take an ear infection any day!

Anyway, she's on an antibiotic and Tylenol for the fever. She should feel better tomorrow, I hope.

On the plus side, she wasn't going to be outdone by her big sister and Emma took 2 steps tonight. I stood her up kind of away from me and she stood there for a second and then "ran" to me. Her little feet were moving as fast as they could. Emma will never "walk", she will always run (just like she does when she's cruising around the furniture). :)
(this should have been posted yesterday)
*****************************************************************************

Emma woke up in a happier mood this morning. Her fever seems to be gone (thank goodness). Hopefully, it will stay away. It's amazing what 1 dose of antibiotic can do. :) She actually woke up smiling - hope she keeps those smiles today.

The girls are home!

It was so funny, when we drove up to mom and dad's last night, Callie was standing at the door just jumping up and down. She was so excited to see us!! Emma was getting her diaper changed at the time. :) Emma didn't feel very well, so she wasn't too excited (I think she's coming down with a cold).

Callie took her first steps last night! :) She's been standing on her own forever, but she got brave enough to move last night. She was so proud of herself!
And of course, I had no camera with me. Oh well, maybe she'll walk again today.

DH literally scared the pee out of Josh last night. Josh was pouting because nobody would go outside with him...we were still at the dinner table, but we were looking right out on the deck where he was. Anyway, he was pouting, but then saw Callie standing at the door again and that almost got him to smiling. Well, DH thought it would be cute to make the van alarm go off (close to Josh). He did and Josh screamed and started crying and couldn't get to the door fast enough. His face was a look of pure panic. He jumped into my lap and cried for a minute and then said, "Mama, I peed in my pants!". Poor guy! I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. It was funny, but he was very scared, too. Luckily, we had a change of clothes with us. :)

DH did apologize to Josh - telling him he didn't mean to scare him. He thought Josh would think it was funny - had no clue it would scare him that badly.

Emma was running a bit of a fever when we got home...she didn't want her last bottle or anything. I gave her some Tylenol and put her to bed. She seemed to be feeling a little better this morning.

It was nice to have a little break, but I'm glad my girls are home again. :)

The girls are at my mom and dad's!

Mom keeps the girls on Mondays and Tuesdays, so she suggested that sometime I bring the girls over on Sunday and just let her keep them at her house until Tuesday. She lives about 45 minutes away and drives up to my house 3 times a week to keep the girls! :)

So, anyway, I took the kids over to their house yesterday and left them! It was a little strange not to wake up to them this morning. I don't think I'm going to realize they're gone until this afternoon. By the time Josh and I got home last night, it was bedtime, so they would have been in bed anyway.

I don't think Josh is too thrilled with them being gone. He was really in a cranky mood this morning. We plan on doing something kind of fun this evening with him, so hopefully, that will make things better.

He got a kite over the weekend and he's dying to get it out. He just doesn't understand that we need wind to fly it. :) Hopefully, it will be too wet when we get home today - at least that will be a good excuse not to go out! Poor guy! It won't be long before we have some good kite flying weather.
